We build our own
incompleteness
into every story.
The Incomplete Debate is India's independent newsroom. We report facts, provide context, present the counterpoint, and tell you exactly what we don't yet know — in every single story.
Why "Incomplete"?
Most news organisations pretend to have the full story. TID doesn't. We believe the most honest thing a reporter can say is: "Here is what we know. Here is what we don't. Here is the other side."
This isn't a weakness. It's the most rigorous form of journalism we know: acknowledging that every story is incomplete at the time of publication — and inviting readers into that uncertainty rather than hiding from it.
In a media environment that rewards speed over accuracy and outrage over nuance, TID is a deliberate counterweight.
"The best journalism doesn't give you certainty. It gives you the tools to form your own."
— TID Editorial Philosophy
What we commit to in every story
Acknowledge incompleteness
Every TID article ends with 'What Remains Incomplete' — a deliberate reminder that journalism is a first draft of the truth.
Present the counterpoint
Every TID story includes the strongest argument against its main thrust. Not a strawman. The real opposition case.
Show your sources
Every claim is attributed. Every statistic sourced. Every document linked where possible. We never ask you to trust us blindly.
Both sides of every debate
In TID's debate format, we present both sides with equal rigour — and let you decide.
The TID Format
Every TID article is structured around seven editorial layers.
Key Points
3–5 facts every reader must know, before anything else.
Why It Matters

The Story
Full contextualised reporting — no padding, no filler.
